Spring Into Summer Faire

Enjoy small town charm in a sophisticated setting as you take in the “Spring Into Summer Faire” in the historic old Hillsborough Center. Admission is free and juried artists and artisans abound. There will be live entertainment on Saturday with three groups of Morris Dancers and a falconry exhibit. Sunday will feature Blue Grass music with the Late Night Radio Band.
Also included in your two night package will be Friday evening hors d’oeuvres, hearty country breakfasts both mornings, directions to the Faire, a dinner discount to Daniel’s restaurant, and an optional self guided tour of Hillsborough’s old stone bridges, antique shops and the Franklin Pierce Homestead.

We demonstrate safety procedures, discuss equipment variables, and practice paddle strokes. When the water is warm enough we enjoy a great swim on a sandy beach.

We discuss the history of the area, and guides will help identify plant and animal habitats while we paddle. This is a very relaxing tour in quiet water-and can be an active spot to see beaver, otter, blue heron, kingfisher, and water turtles.

GRANITE STATE VACATIONS OFFERS
HOLIDAY TEA TASTING EVENT
Granite State Vacations has partnered with master tea blenders, Harney & Sons to offer a “Harney Tea Tasting, Book Signing and Holiday Event" on December 5 and 6. The tea tasting event will be hosted simultaneously at a selection of inns, which will be decorated in all their holiday finery, in the Sunapee region. The cost is $25 per person with the proceeds going the New Hampshire Food Bank. Tickets for the tea tasting as well as special packages for that weekend that combine an inn stay with the tea tasting are being developed. Please return to this site later in June to learn more.
The “Harney Tea Tasting, Book Signing and Holiday Event” is scheduled for Saturday, December 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with each of the participating inns offering a tasting of unique teas. No two inns will be featuring the same teas, so guest will be able to sample a wide variety of the over 250 different teas sold by Harney & Sons. Along with the tea service, each inn will prepare their own specialty dessert and a recipe from a Harney Tea Cookbook.
Master tea blender, John Harney, founder of Harney & Sons and his son Mike Harney will be at the inns to demonstrate the art of brewing the perfect cup of tea, tea gift basket making, and sign Harney Tea books. For over 25 years Harney & Sons has been assisting the hospitality industry in upgrading their tea service and providing staff training in the art of brewing tea. Some of their first customers were Chuck Williams of Williams-Sonoma and Starbucks. Today the company sells a wide variety of the finest teas from around the world, as well as cookbooks, teapots and tea-related gifts and food treats.
